“Thailand’s Seafood Industry: Bound by Invisible Chains” – ESG Risk Alert – Solaron – January 7, 2016

On January 7, 2016 the analytics and research firm Solaron published an ESG Risk Alert entitled, “Thailand’s Seafood Industry:  Bound by Invisible Chains.”  According to the document, one Swiss multinational’s admission of “the prevalence of slave and child labor in its seafood supply chain based in Thailand” is only the “tip of the iceberg.”   “Scores of other large and medium scale retailers source their seafood from Thailand, where the fishing and processing industry is riddled with slave labor.”
