On June 14, 2016 UPI covered a recent report by the World Bank that documents significant private sector investments in renewable energy. According to the World Bank’s 2015 Global Private Participation in Infrastructure (PPI) Update, “(s)olar energy investment climbed 72 percent higher than the previous five-year average to reach US$9.4 billion; renewables captured nearly two-thirds of energy investments with private participation.”
