“Waste Crime – Addressing Gaps in the Global E-Waste System” – GLOBE-Net – May 28, 2015

On May 28, 2015 GLOBE-Net reported on the publication of a report by the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) entitled, “Waste Crime – Waste Risks: Gaps in Meeting the Global Waste Challenge.”

According to the report, 60 to 90 percent of e-waste is illegally traded or dumped. Africa (Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria and the Republic of Congo) and Asia (Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Pakistan and Vietnam) are key destinations for e-waste.
