“Uruguay gets $216m boost for wind power projects” – Climate Action – May 26, 2015

On May 26, 2015 Climate Action reported that the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has approved loans to support two wind energy projects in Uruguay.

According to the article, “Uruguay has set a target to source 90 per cent of its total electricity requirements from clean energy sources by the end of 2015.

In 2014 Uruguay’s national energy director announced that 84 per cent of the electricity consumed was sourced from renewables.”
