An article published on CSR Asia on August 12, 2014 scrutinizes the real number of companies producing sustainability reports in Singapore.
According to a study published on July 31, 2014 by Accountability for a Sustainable Future, an initiative of the National University of Singapore (NUS) Business School and Global Compact, 160 of 537 listed companies in Singapore (30%) communicate their sustainability efforts. This represents a two-fold increase since 2011.
The disclosures of the 160 listed companies were qualitatively assessed against Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) guidelines and the Singapore Exchange Limited (SGX) Guide to Sustainability Reporting in four categories: foundational principles, general, environmental and social.
