Baltic Market Awards 2013 – NASDAQ OMX Baltic Market Awards handed out for the eighth time – January 30, 2014

On January 30, 2014, NASDAQ OMX Baltic announced the Baltic listed companies with the best investor relations and the member of the year in 2013.  Traditionally the Baltic Market Awards gala took place simultaneously in Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius, the capitals of the three Baltic States.

BMA logo.docAccording to the press release issued by NASDAQ OMX Baltic, “Estonian water company Tallinna Vesi won the main category “Best Investor Relations in the Baltic Market” for the first time. Robert Greifeld, CEO of NASDAQ OMX Group, invited the winner to the NASDAQ OMX Marketsite in New York to participate in the Bell Ringing Ceremony.  Lithuanian telecommunications company TEO LT was the runner up and third place went to the Estonian fashion retailer Baltika.”

The purpose of the Baltic Market Awards project is to highlight the best investor relations in financial and non-financial reporting and improve the overall standard of investor relations among companies listed on NASDAQ OMX Baltic Market, as well as provide them with individual evaluation and consultancy from stock exchange side.  Geoffrey Mazullo, Principal, Emerging Markets ESG, is Chair of the Baltic Market Awards Evaluation Committee.

A total of 52 Baltic companies were evaluated according to more than 160 criteria, including the quality of the annual and periodical reports, ad hoc disclosures, web page and analysts’ opinions, etc.
