Geoffrey Mazullo, Adjunct Professor, School of American Law (SAL) – Poland, delivered a presentation entitled, “ESG Reporting in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE)” at the Third Annual Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on March 23, 2010 in Cairo, Egypt. The presentation was one of four in a panel dedicated to sustainable reporting: features, guidelines and methodologies.
The Conference was dedicated to “Transparency & Reporting on CSR Practices: Towards A Sustainable Competitive Environment.” Topics covered included: sustainable reporting and its importance; the key areas that companies should report on; the role of transparency and disclosure in building accountability and trust; and the benefits to be gained by reporting on sustainability.
At the conference the S&P/EGX ESG Index was launched.
The conference was organized by the Egyptian Institute of Directors and the Egyptian Corporate Responsibility Center in partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Center for Transparency and with the support of the World Bank Institute (WBI) – World Bank Group and the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI).
